Đỗ Bích Thúy was born in 1974 in Ha Giang, Viet Nam. After graduating from the Academy of Journalism and Communication in 1997, she wrote for the Army Literature and Arts magazine, of which she is now associate editor in chief. She enjoys writing short stories and has received several Vietnam Writers’ Union prizes for her fiction, including the 2000 Army Literature and Arts magazine’s first place prize for “Sage on the Mountain.” She has published five collections of short stories, a poetry collection, and a collection of essays.
