Cynthia-Marie O'Brien, essayist and educator, creates biographies of place. She founded forthcoming global tri-quarterly, Hypothetical: A Review of Everything Imaginable. Her writing on the imagination received a notable citation in Best American Essays 2011. Her creative nonfiction, literary criticism and journalism have appeared in America Magazine, Bellevue Literary Review, Booklist, Killing the Buddha, Kirkus, and Publishers Weekly, among other publications.
