Cristiane Sobral is a writer, professor, theater director, and actress. Born in Rio de Janeiro, she lives in Brasília. She holds a master’s in theater studies and received the 2017 Prêmio FAC for Afro-Brazilian Culture. Sobral has published five books of prose and poetry, and she is a frequent guest at international literary festivals in such places as the United States, South Africa, Colombia, Guiné Bissau, and Angola.
