Cobbin Dale was born in Australia in 1910 and worked as a station boy, a stockman, and a motor mechanic. An important Pilbara poet and storyteller of the mid twentieth century, he was also well known as a Yindjibarndi singer and composer of jalurra (corroboree) songs.
