Ciwan Nebî was born in Qamishlo, Rojava, in 1983, and still lives there today. He earned a BA in Law from the University of Aleppo. He’s written poetry in Kurmanji since his youth, and has published four collections of poetry, including Like a Bullet That Doesn’t Kill (2014) and Your Breaths Are the Dreams of a Valley (2018).
