Charlotte-Arrisoa Rafenomanjato

Charlotte-Arrisoa Rafenomanjato (1936–2008) was a widely-read author, poet, playwright, and essayist who wrote primarily in French. Many of her plays have been produced in various theaters across Madagascar, France, and Canada, and some were translated to be performed in Italy and the United States. Some of her novels were published in France. Rafenomanjato was a founding member and honorary president of the Indian Ocean Writers Society for French literature. She also trained as a midwife and pediatric nurse.
