Blanca Riestra

Blanca Riestra (La Coruña, 1970) studied Hispanic Philology in Santiago de Compostela and received her doctorate from the University of Burgundy (France)....

  Her novels include: Anatol y dos más (Anagrama, 1996); La canción de las cerezas (Algaida, 2001), for which she won the Ateneo Young Writer’s Award of Seville; El sueño de Borges (Algaida, 2005), recipient of the Tigre Juan Prize; Todo lleva su tiempo (Alianza editorial, 2007); and Madrid Blues (Alianza editorial, 2008).  Her most recent novel, La noche sucks (Alianza editorial, 2010), began as the short story of the same name, which earned the Eñe Magazine Short Story Prize in 2006.  She has written a book of poems, called Una felicidad salvaje (Huerga y Fierro, 2010), and her short stories have been widely anthologized.  She currently lives in Madrid.
