Barlen Pyamootoo

Barlen Pyamootoo lives in Trou d’Eau Douce, Mauritius. His first book, Bénarès, published in Paris in1999, was widely acclaimed by the critics. He adapted the book to the screen, becoming the first Mauritian filmmaker to use kreol morisien in his work. He has since published two other books, including Salogi’s, a love letter to his mother.
