Azhar Abidi was born in Pakistan in 1968. After studying in England and Australia, he co-founded the literary magazine Cipher, which published the works of Pakistani writers writing in English from Karachi, Pakistan between 1993 and 1994. His work has been published in the Australian literary journal Meanjin and Passarola Rising is his first novel. He now lives in Melbourne, Australia.
