Avinash Shrestha

Born on May 14, 1957, in Guwahati, India, Avinash Shrestha immigrated to Nepal as a postgraduate student in 1984. He is the author of four collections of poetry in Nepali, one in Assamese, a short story collection, and a play. He is also the editor emeritus of the Royal Nepal Academy’s literary magazine, Samakalin Sahitya....

A decorated poet, editor, and screenwriter, his literary works have been awarded the prestigious Dhaulagiri Sahitya Puraskar for the poetry collection, Anubhuti Yatrama, among others, and most recently in June 2022 he was awarded the Gopal Prasad Rimal Smriti Samman.
