Anna Barker

Anna Barker is a visiting assistant professor at the University of Iowa, where she received her PhD in comparative literature in 2002. She teaches in the English Department and translates the works of writers visiting the International Writing Program. Several of her translations appeared in the 91st Meridian and International Accents magazine....

Her areas of interest include translation, nineteenth-century European and American literature, and women writers. Her essay on Helen Maria Williams’s translation of Paul and Virginia will appear in Women and Translation.
