Anna Badkhen is the author of seven books of nonfiction, most recently Bright Unbearable Reality (NYRB), which was longlisted for the National Book Award. A Guggenheim Fellow, she is at work on an essay collection, a book of short stories, and a novel. She teaches at the University of Pennsylvania.
