Ángela Pradelli is an Argentine writer and a professor of Literature at the secondary school level, as well as Coordinator of the National Plan for the Province of Buenos Aires. She also coordinates international writing workshops for adults. Her essays on education and language have been published in various media.
Pradelli is recognized in Argentina and abroad for her prose narrative as well as her poetry, having earned, among other prizes, the Premio Emecé, Premio Clarín, Premio Municipal de Novela Ciudad de Buenos Aires. She is the author of Las cosas ocultas, Amigas mías, Turdera, El lugar del padre, Cómo se empieza a escribir una narración, Libro de lectura: Crónica de una docente argentina, and most recently the novel Combi. Poems from her collection Un día entero were finalists in the Premio Casa de las Américas competition and figured among the winners of the Concurso Nacional de Poesía Miguel Ángel Bustos, Roberto Santoro, Francisco Urondo. With Esther Cross, she coedited the anthology La Biblia según veinticinco escritores argentinos. In 2004 she won the Beca Nacional para Escritores, sponsored by the Fondo Nacional de las Artes and was selected as Writer-in-Residence at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida as a fellow of the National Ministry of Culture’s Programa Internacional de Intercambio de Artistas, Técnicos y Profesionales de la Cultura. In 2005 and 2007 her journalistic articles were recognized for their excellence by the Asociación de Entidades Periodísticas Argentinas (ADEPA). In 2010 she was selected by the Fundación Pro Helvetica of Switzerland to be Writer-in-Residence in that country, where she lectured at the University of Geneva, and in the cities of Zurich, Aarau, Wettinger, and Zofingen. The newspaper La Liberté (Fribourg) has published her notes on language. She has also lectured in Cuba, Venezuela, and the United States. Her second book of essays, La búsqueda del lenguaje: Experiencias de transmisión en el aula, will be published by Paidós in 2011.
