Alfredo Molano

Alfredo Molano Bravo is a writer, sociologist, and journalist born in Bogotá in 1944. He has published seminal texts on the origins and development of complex social issues in Colombia such as violence, forced displacement, and urgent issues facing the country's rural areas. His books The Dispossessed: Chronicles of the Desterrados of Colombia (Haymarket, 2005) and Loyal Soldiers in the Cocaine Kingdom: Tales of Drugs, Mules, and Gunmen (Columbia University Press, 2004) have been translated into English.
