Born in 1970 and reared in Mexico City, Alain-Paul Mallard studied Hispanic Literatures in his native city, and then studied European Intellectual History in Toronto. Tempted by silence, he is the author of a short, highly concentrated body of work which includes the book Evocación de Matthias Stimmberg (Heliópolis, México, 1995; Bibliophane, Paris, 2003), as well as various contributions to literary journals. Since 1996, he has been living in Paris, where he studied filmmaking. L'origine de la tendresse, Évidences and L'adoption stand out among his films.
