Young-ha Kim’s “Empire of Light”
By Rohan Kamicheril
Publishers Marketplace reports that WWB author Young-ha Kim's latest book, Empire of Light, was just picked up by Harcourt. The brief reads:
"Young-ha Kim's EMPIRE OF LIGHT, Manhae Prize-winning novel about a day
in the life of a North Korean spy who is recalled from the South and
must decide to either give up his family there or return to an uncertain
fate in the North, to Jenna Johnson at Harcourt, by Barbara Zitwer
Agency (NA)."
If you haven't yet read Kim, check out his short story The Man who Sold his Shadow for a glimpse of his poweful, lyrical, and metaphysical style.
