Ghayath Almadhoun is a Palestinian poet, born in Damascus in 1979 and now based between Berlin and Stockholm. Almadhoun’s poetry has been translated into nearly thirty languages, and he has published five collections of poetry in Arabic, the latest being I have brought you a severed hand, published in Arabic by Almutawassit in 2024.
Almadhoun has collaborated with other poets and artists, and his poetry has been part of work by US artist Jenny Holzer, German musician Blixa Bargeld, and others. Adrenalin, a selection of his poems translated into English by Catherine Cobham, was published in the US by Action Books in 2017. I have brought you a severed hand, also translated by Cobham, will be released in the US by Action Books in 2025.
