Gabriel Gudding serves on the board of directors for the bilingual literary journal Mandorla: Nueva Escritura de Las Américas. He is the author of two books of poetry, A Defense of Poetry(University of Pittsburgh Press, 2002) and the long poem Rhode Island Notebook(Dalkey Archive Press, 2007), and has published in literary journals such as The Nat
and Mandorla, and in anthologies such as Great American Prose Poems From Poe to the Present (Scribner, 2003). His translations have appeared in Poems for the Millennium, vol. 3 (University of California), The Whole Island: Six Decades of Poetry from Cuba(University of California), and The Oxford Anthology of Latin American Poetry (Oxford, 2008). He is an assistant professor of English at Illinois State University.
