In the latest in his Poeboes podcast series for Words without Borders, André Naffis speaks to poet and translator from the Italian Jamie McKendrick.

Jamie McKendrick (1955 – ) lives in Oxford and has published five collections of poetry. He edited The Faber Book of 20th Century Italian Poems in 2004, and his translation of Giorgio Bassani’s The Garden of the Finzi-Continis was published by Penguin Modern Classics in 2007. His translation of Valerio Magrelli’s poems, The Embrace, was published in November 2009 by Faber and Faber in the UK. The US edition, Vanishing Points, is to follow in March 2010 from FSG.
