WWB Writers at the Brooklyn Book Festival Sunday

New York readers, we hope you'll spend your Sunday afternoon with the many WWB contributors appearing at the Brooklyn Book Festival. You can kick off at 11:00 with our Andy Tepper leading Alexander Maksik, Juan Gabriel Vásquez , and Oonya Kempadoo  in thoughts on national memory. Noon finds Rutu Modan and David Prudhomme  in conversation with fellow comic artists Adrian Tomine and Dash Shaw. Then you can choose between two events at 1:00: Eduardo Halfon tells stories with Jamaica Kincaid and Chinelo Okparanta, while Zeina Abirached joins Patricia McCormick, Tara Sullivan, and Elizabeth Kiem in remembering growing up surrounded by war and discrimination. They're followed at 2:00 by André Aciman discussing displacement with Claire Messud, moderated by Alberto Mobilio. And at 5:00, Sinan Antoon and Ru Freeman consider the aftermath of war with Colum McCann and Rob Spillman. If you can't see these wonderful writers in person, do visit their pieces on the site.
