Violeta Ivkovic was born in Belgrade, Serbia, in 1957. She is the author of Friends (1999), Stories from the Internet (2001), The Dining Room (2009), and The Scrap of the Night (2010).  She won the 2009 Mali Nemo Award for The Dining Room. She lives in Belgrade and is a columnist for the Serbian edition of Micro-PC World.
