Verena Aschbacher, born in South Tyrol, a German-speaking region in Italy, specializes in German graphic novels and contemporary poetry. After studying in Austria, she taught refugees and secondary school students in Switzerland for five years. She is currently working on her PhD at the University of Connecticut, where she also teaches German.
