Suzane Adam was born in Satu Mare, Transylvania, and came to Israel at age ten. She completed her art studies majoring in medieval art, photography, and etching. She later went on to study graphic art and multimedia and has taught art and creative thinking, image consulting, and computerized commercial presentation.
Adam has worked as an illustrator and invented games for one of Israel's largest toy firms. She began writing seriously in 1996 and now devotes most of her time to writing. She published her first novel, Laundry, in 2000, followed by Mayamiya in 2002 and Janis's Mother in 2004. In 2006, she was awarded the Kugel Prize for Janis's Mother. Her work has been translated into German and English.
