Renate Latimer taught German and Comparative literature at Auburn University and has translated German and Austrian novels, short stories, and poetry.  Her favorite place of refuge is The European Translators Institute (EUK). She is currently working on a translation of chapters from Celans Kreidestern (2010) by Brigitta Eisenreich, about Celan's ten-year relationship in Paris with the Austrian writer Eisenreich.
