Micheliny Verunschk is the author of Geografia Íntima do Deserto (Landy, 2003), O Observador e o Nada (Edições Bagaço, 2003), A Cartografia da Noite (Lumme Editor, 2010), and b de bruxa (Mariposa Cartonera, 2014). In 2004, she was a finalist for the Portugal Telecome Prize with Geografia Íntima do Deserto.
In 2014, she published her first novel, Nossa Teresa: vida e morte de uma santa suicida (Editora Patuá, with the support of the Petrobras Cultural Program), for which she earned the 2015 Prêmio São Paulo. She earned her PhD in communications and semiotics and a master’s in literature and literary criticism at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo.
