Lana al-Majali (b. 1975) is a Jordanian poet and writer.
She is the author of the poetry collection Cold, Chestnuts, and O Lord, Send Rain (Dar al-Mutanabbi, 2012, supported by the Ministry of Culture) and the essay collection On One Leg: A Biography of Knowledge (Dar Lusail, 2018) and has contributed to two joint works: The Short Story in Jordan (2013), published by Awraq, the journal of the Jordanian Writers Association (JWA), and 77 Poets from the Ocean to the Gulf (ed. Fatima Bouhraka, 2018). She is a member of the JWA, participated in the Nadwa (writers’ workshop) held by the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2016, and served on the jury for the children’s literature competition at the 2017 Creative Child Festival, held by the Jordanian Ministry of Culture. Her work has appeared in the cultural supplements of a number of Arabic-language newspapers, magazines, and websites. She is currently working on a new poetry collection, as well as her first children’s novel.
