José Tola was corn in Lima in 1943. From 1963 to 1969, he studied at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, where he earned the title of professor of drawing and painting. His work has been recognized with several prizes throughout his career. He currently lives in Peru.
