John Vater received an MFA in literary translation from the University of Iowa. He translates from Hindi. He was selected as the “Emerging Translator” from the US in 2018 for the Banff International Literary Translation Centre residency. His essays have appeared in 91st Meridian and The Quint, and he has a forthcoming translation in the Asia Literary Review.
