Jakuba Katalpa (b. 1979) is the pseudonym of Tereza Jandová.
Katalpa, a writer and artist, is the author of five books: the short story collections Krásné bolesti (2000; Lovely Pain) and Povídka beze jména (2003; Story Without a Name); the novella Je hlína k snědku? (2006; Can Mud Be Eaten?), which was shortlisted for the Magnesia Litera Discovery of the Year Award; the novel Hořké moře (2008; Bitter Sea), which was shortlisted for the Jiří Orten Prize; and Němci (2012; Germans ), which won both the Czech Book Award and the Josef Škvorecký Award, and was also shortlisted for the Magnesia Litera Award for Prose. Her works have been translated into three languages.
