Hooda El Shuwa is a Kuwaiti-Palestinian writer living in Kuwait. She is the recipient of the 2008 Sheikh Zayed Book Award for Children’s Literature as well as Kuwait’s 2018 National Prize for Children’s Literature.
She is the founder of Taqa Productions, which creates and produces Arabic theatrical projects and puppet theater in Kuwait and the Middle East. Productions include Akhnaton, The Yellow Man, and Ikara, as well as the puppet shows Elephant in the City and Julnar and the Firebird.
