Filippo Tuena was born in Rome in 1953 and lives in Milan. He studied art history and published his first novel, Lo sguardo della paura, in 1991. He was awarded the Grinzane-Cavour Prize in 2000 for Tutti i sognatori
He has also written a novel about the death of Michelangelo, La grande ombra, and a selection of his correspondence, La passione dell'error mio.
