Edival Lourenço was born in Iporá, Goiás, in 1952. He is currently president of the União Brasileira de Escritores-Goiás and occupies the twenty-second chair of the Academica Goiana de Letras. He has published six books of poetry, three collections of crônicas, two short-story collections, and two novels.
