Dorothea Rosa Herliany was born October 20, 1963, and is a poet, teacher, journalist, and publisher. A wife and mother who resides in Magelang (Central Java), she is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including ones from the Jakarta Arts Council (2000), the National Language Center (2003), and the National Ministry of Culture and Tourism (2004). In 2005 she was awarded the Khatulistiwa Literary Award, Indonesia's best-known literary prize.
