Cheri Lewis (Chitre, Panama) has been a columnist for the daily newspaper La Prensa and the magazine Blank. Her stories have been included in Guía de Viajes de Almanaque Azul (2013) and Antología de Narraciones de los Talleres Literarios de Panamá (2010–2011).
Her publications include the short story collection Abrir las manos (Fuga Editorial, 2013; reissued by F & G Editores, Guatemala, 2015) and De la magia y otros recuerdos, which received an honorary mention from the Carlos Francisco Changmarín Prize for Children’s Literature, given by the National Institute of Culture. In 2017 she won the same award with her next book of short stories, Vivir con alegria. That same year, her work appeared in the anthology Historias de dos ciudades, cuentistas de Panamáand El Salvador, and in ¡Basta! 100 mujeres contra la violencia de género de Panamá. Currently, she is creative director at Jungla Cartoons, Inc., where she is a screenwriter and composer for animated series and digital comic books.
