Carlos Machado was born in Curitiba, Brazil, in 1977. In 2000, he graduated in Language Studies (Portuguese and English) at UFPR (Parana State University). He has been teaching Brazilian literature and English to high school students for 10 years. In 2004, he finished his postgraduate work in School Administration at FAE.
Carlos published two short story collections, A Voz do Outro (2004) and Nós da Província: diálogo com o carbono (2005) at 7letras, and his new book, Balada de uma Retina Sul Americana is about to be released (June, 2006) by the same publisher. Besides literature, Carlos is a musician. He recorded three CDs as a member of Sad Theory, a heavy rock band based in Brazil.
