Aureliya Akmullayeva creates poetry, visual art, performance art, and journalism. She was born in 2004 in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, and graduated from the city's Youth Writers' Workshop in 2018. A 2020 graduate of Internews's journalism courses, she has also attended lectures and master classes at the ARTBATFEST contemporary art festival's School of Artistic Movement (2018).
Akmullayeva's work has featured in exhibits including Ot nenavisti do liubvi (From Hate to Love, 2018), NEPRIKLADNOE (UNAPPLIED, 2018), A3:2D party (2017), and 8 1/2 (2020). She presented a series of performance art pieces at ARTBATFEST in 2016 and 2018. Other festival participation includes the 2018 Astana Art Fest and the VIII Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art (2018). Akmullayeva's writing has been published in the youth anthology Most v drugoi mir (A Bridge to Another World, 2018) and in the online publications Artikuliatsiia (Articulation, 2019) and Daktil' (Dactyl, 2020). She has won the Silk Road International Film Festival's top award in the special category for video poetry.
