Angelo Cannavacciuolo, born in Naples in 1956, began as an actor and is a screenwriter for cinema, television, and theater. His novels include Guardiani delle nuvole (1999), a finalist for the Viareggio fiction and Berto Prizes: Il soffio delle fate (2002), a finalist for the Elsa Morante Prize, and Acque basse (2005). Guardiani delle nuvole was made into a film in 2004 directed by Luciano Odorisio and with a cast including Alessandro Gassman, Claudia Gerini, Franco Nero, and Anna Galiena. An opera was based on Il soffio delle fate, and his play Oratorio di speranza, set to music by maestro Filippo Zigante, was presented in Germany at the Vorpommern Theatre. HIs newest book is Le cose accadono.
