Gunvor Rasmussen (b. 1981) is from Bergen, where she also runs a gallery in one of the old buildings at Bryggen, the city’s historic dock. She studied illustration in London at Central Saint Martins, and visual communications at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design. She has previously worked as an illustrator for the newspaper Bergens Tidende.
In 2007, she made her debut as an illustrator of books with the children’s anthology Godnattboka (The Goodnight Book), and she remained attached as illustrator for the follow-up anthologies Eventyrboka in 2009 (The Fairy-Tale Book), Trøysteboka in 2011 (The Book of Comforts), Monsterboka in 2013 (The Book of Monsters), and Fantasiboka in 2016 (The Fantasy Book). Rasmussen’s work on Eventyrboka won a silver prize in the 2010 Year’s Most Beautiful Books competition, run by the Norwegian visual communication organisation Grafill.
