Agop Magardich Melkonyan (1949–2006) was a Bulgarian fantasy writer, translator, journalist, university lecturer, and publisher. He worked as a journalist for Orbita newspaper for many years, and was one of the founders of the Armenian Studies Chair at Sofia University.
He was the publisher of the science fiction and fantasy magazine Omega, the editor of the Varkolak (later F Zone) monthly magazine, and the publisher of the Erato publishing house, which specialized in poetry. The author of several fantasy and science fiction short story collections and novels, plays, and film scripts, he was the first winner of the Graviton Award in 1991.
