Words without Borders invites our readers to join us for our Tenth Anniversary Gala on October 29, 2013 from 6-9 PM, at Tribeca Three Sixty in New York City. Ticket information can be found on our Eventbrite page.
Celebrate ten years of WWB with us and join us in honoring distinguished book editor Drenka Willen, who will be accepting the first annual Ottaway Award for the Promotion of Literature in Translation.
We will also be joined by one of our first and favorite discoveries, Iranian-born author Goli Taraghi, whose new collection of stories, The Pomegranate Lady and Her Sons, is forthcoming in October.
The proceeds from the gala will not only support our ongoing efforts to publish the finest international literature from around the world (more than 1,600 pieces, translated from 92 languages thus far), but will also support the creation of our new education initiative, Words without Borders Campus. On WWB Campus, we will offer educators and curious readers opportunities to entertain new perspectives through selected works of foreign literature, enhanced with contextual essays, recorded interviews, extended biographical information, and other features.
