Ignacio Martínez de Pisón was born in Zaragoza in 1960 and has lived in Barcelona since 1982. He has degrees in Spanish and Italian from the Universidad de Zaragoza and the Universitat Central de Barcelona, repectively. His first book was published in 1984.
He is the author of several film scripts and more than a dozen books, such as the novels Carreteras secundarias (1996, Back Roads), El tiempo de las mujeres (2003, Among Sisters), Dientes de leche (2008, Giuseppe Acerbi Prize, Milk Teeth), and El día de mañana (2011, Ciutat de Barcelona Prize and Critics’ Prize, One Fine Day), as well as the nonfiction book Enterrar a los muertos (2005, Rodolfo Walsh and Dulce Chacón Prizes.
