Zanele Muholi

Zanele Muholi is a photographer and visual activist who explores black lesbian, gay, and transgender identities in South Africa. For her series “Faces and Phases” (2006–11), Muholi made more than 200 portraits of South Africa’s lesbian community....

Her work has been exhibited around the world and collected in book form.
