Yordan Slaveykov (b. 1976) is a theater director and writer who specialized in acting at the International Summer School for Theatre in Moscow (2008). His monodrama Victoria has been translated into Ukrainian, Serbian, Macedonian, Russian, and English, and was staged in North Macedonia in 2021. The Last Step (2015), his debut novel, won the prestigious Yuzhna Prolet award for debut literature (2016) and the Pencho’s Oak prose award. It was also shortlisted for the Peroto National Award for Contemporary Bulgarian Fiction and saw a second edition in 2020. His forthcoming short story collection, The Holiday Family, is being translated into Czech.
