A Bangladeshi writer and translator, Shabnam Nadiya graduated from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop in 2012. She is currently working on her collection Pye Dogs and Magic Men: Stories, as well as translating Shaheen Akhtar’s novel Beloved Rongomala. Her translation of Moinul Ahsan Saber’s novel The Mercenary was published by Bengal Lights Books (Dhaka) in 2016; the US edition is forthcoming from Seagull Books in 2017. She is co-guest editor of the South Asian Literature in Translation issue of 91st Meridian (Summer, 2016).
