Mensje van Keulen

Mensje van Keulen (b. 1946, the Netherlands) is a writer of novels and short stories. Her 1972 debut, Bleekers zomer (Bleeker’s Summer), is now considered a modern Dutch literary classic. She writes wryly comic stories and novels about apparently ordinary characters in which not a word is out of place. Realistic situations gradually get out of control. She has published over twenty-five titles, including novels, poetry, children’s books, and story collections.
