Johan Moya Ramis has a BA in Theology and works as a librarian in the José Martí National Library of Cuba. Graduate of the eighth session (2004-2005) of the Onelio Jorge Cardoso Center for Literary Education, where he was awarded the Caballo de Coral grant.
Other awards include second prize in Letras Cubanas’ 2006 El Dinosaurio short story contest with “La noticia”; honorary mention in the 2006 Mangle Rojo contest for “El patinador”; finalist in the 2007 El Dinosaurio with “Taller Nacional”; finalist in the Gaceta de Cuba contest with “Anatema de la Ciudad”; second prize in the 2009 El Dinosaurio for best work by an author under thirty-five.
