Fady Joudah

Fady Joudah’s first book of poetry, The Earth in the Attic, received the Yale Series for Younger Poets in 2007. His translation of Mahmoud Darwish’s The Butterfly’s Burden was shortlisted for the PEN Poetry in Translation award and won the 2008 Saif Ghobash–Banipal Prize for Arabic Literary Translation. He won the 2010 PEN USA translation award for his translation of Darwish’s If I Were Another. His most recent collection, Footnotes in the Order of Disappearance, was published by Milkweed Editions in 2018. He is a physician in Houston, Texas.
