Eduardo Halfon
Eduardo Halfon was born in 1971 in Guatemala City. He studied industrial engineering at North Carolina State University, and was then Literature Professor at Universidad Francisco Marroquín, in Guatemala. This year he will publish his tenth book of fiction. He has won the Café Bretón and Bodegas Olarra Literary Prize (Logroño, Spain, 2008) and the José María de Perera Novella Prize (Santander, Spain, 2009), and was a semifinalist for the Herralde Novel Prize (Barcelona, Spain, 2003). Parts of his work have been translated into Serbian, Portuguese, Dutch, Italian, French, and English. In 2007 he was named one of the thirty-nine best young Latin American writers by the Hay Festival of Bogotá. He is currently a Guggenheim Fellow.
