Daniel Hahn, Canan Marasligil, Mui Poopoksakul, and Angela Rodel

Daniel Hahn is a writer, editor, and translator, with some fifty books to his name. Recent books include the new Oxford Companion to Children’s Literature and a translation of a Brazilian novel.

Canan Marasligil is a writer, literary translator, editor, and curator. She specializes in contemporary Turkish literature and in comics. Through her work, she aims to challenge official narratives and advocate freedom of expression. She is the creator of “City in Translation,” which explores languages and translation in urban spaces. Her website is cananmarasligil.net

Mui Poopoksakul is a translator of Thai literature. Her translation of Prabda Yoon’s The Sad Part Was (Tilted Axis Press) was published in 2017. She is at work on two other story collections, one by Yoon (again with Tilted Axis) and one by Duanwad Pimwana (Feminist Press, forthcoming 2019).

Angela Rodel is a literary translator from Bulgarian. She has received NEA and PEN translation grants. Her translation of Georgi Gospodinov’s The Physics of Sorrow won the 2016 AATSEEL Prize for literary translation and was shortlisted for the 2016 PEN Translation Prize and ALTA’s 2016 National Translation Award.
