Claude Bleton is the former director of the Collège international des traducteurs littéraires in Arles and translates from Spanish to French. He has translated the works of many authors from Spain and South America, including Leopoldo Alas, Cunqueiro Alvaro, José Manuel Fajardo, Belén Gopegui, Juan Goytisolo, José Jiménez Lozano, Javier Marías, Juan Marse, Carmen Martín Gaite, Antonio Muñoz Molina, Fernando Savater, Juan José Saer, Gonzalo Torrente Ballester, Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, and Manuel Vélez de Guevara. Les Nègres du traducteur is his first book.
